Shopsmith Power Coupler
The Shopsmith Power Coupler is made of a specially-designed, durable plastic compound designed to break or shatter in order to distribute the force exerted by the spindle in the event of binding or catching of the spindle instead of the spindle, spindle housing, or SPT drive mechanism breaking, which could result in a costly repair or potentially hazardous situation. Each end mates with specially-designed, splined metal hubs that attach your MARK 7, & other MARK models to your Special Purpose Tools.
Note: The coupler kit is required to connect Special Purpose Tools (SPTs) to your Shopsmith MARK 7 or other MARK model. (It has come standard with all MARK models manufactured since April 1985)
